The best vitamins to boost energy

The best energy-boosting vitamins are usually vitamins, minerals, or ingredients like coenzyme Q10, which helps reduce fatigue and exhaustion.

When it comes to energy-boosting vitamins, we can opt for ready-made multivitamins that already contain the best combination of vitamins and minerals, or for a specific vitamin or mineral that we think will help us.

The best multivitamins for adults have a good ratio of price, quality, practicality and have ingredients that serve to increase energy. Below we will list some of the quality choices. All products are approved by the Ministry of Health and safe for use.

Multivitamins

Multivitamins can be the best combination of vitamins and minerals because they contain a wide spectrum of vitamins and minerals in one tablet or capsule.

Supradyn Energy tablets are a popular choice for boosting energy levels. They contain a number of vitamins and minerals, but also coenzyme Q10, an antioxidant linked to maintaining optimal energy.

In addition to tablets, Supradyn Energy also comes in the form of sachets that dissolve directly in the mouth.

Centravit tablets are a vitamin-mineral food supplement that contains 23 vitamins and minerals in carefully balanced amounts.

Natural Wealth ABC Plus tablets contain 12 vitamins and 13 minerals, lutein and lycopene. Due to their affordable price and practical packaging, they are a quality choice.

vitamin B

B group vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B8, B9 and B12) act as cofactors necessary for many chemical reactions in the body. Many B vitamins are necessary for mitochondria and energy production.

Vitamin B6 supports the healthy production of neurotransmitters, which leads to energy conservation. Vitamin B12 helps turn the food you eat into energy that your cells can use. B complex vitamins play an important role in optimal energy levels and therefore it is good to take them together instead of just specific B vitamins.

Manufacturer Solgar made the B-Kompleks nutritional supplement that contains B vitamins necessary for energy production.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is one of the key nutrients for energy production. It is produced naturally in the body through skin contact with UV light.

Since living indoors is an increasingly common practice in the modern world, many people may lack this essential vitamin. Vitamin D plays a key role in the breakdown of food into energy. In particular, it supports the breakdown of sugar and thus a healthy inflammatory response.

Plivit D oral drops contain vitamin D in optimal doses, are easy to use and have affordable prices.

Magnesium

Magnesium has over 300 functions in the human body. This abundant mineral supports the transport of energy through the mitochondria so that it can be used by all cells in the body. In this way, magnesium participates in the production of energy and is an important mineral for raising energy.

Natural Wealth Magnesium Direct is a practical way of using magnesium. Take one bag a day directly in the mouth.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is important for a healthy immune system. Repeated infections and diseases weaken our organism. Although it will not directly lead to an increase in energy, vitamin C deficiency can lead to symptoms such as fatigue, weakness and lack of energy.

Sangreen Liposomal Vitamin C has technology behind it for better availability of this important vitamin.

Iron

Iron is an important mineral that participates in the transport of oxygen in the body and brain. Iron deficiency can lead to reduced oxygen transport, reduced energy production and increased fatigue in the body.

SiderAL Forte contains highly concentrated iron in capsules. It also contains vitamin C, which improves iron absorption.

Cink

Zinc is an essential mineral that plays an important role in metabolic processes and energy production. It is also a powerful antioxidant that protects cells from damage caused by free radicals.

Pharmavital In addition to zinc, Oligosel also contains other vitamins such as vitamins A, C and E, which are important for boosting immunity.

Benefits of taking energy-boosting vitamins

Taking vitamins has many benefits for boosting energy.

These are just a few ways multivitamins help:

  • They are practical: Taking vitamins on a regular basis does not require too much effort due to the simple use and practical forms (capsules, powder in bags that are taken directly into the mouth).
  • Reduce fatigue: Lack of certain vitamins and minerals, such as iron and vitamin D, can lead to fatigue and weakness.
  • They improve metabolism: Slow metabolism and poor absorption of nutrients leads to fatigue. B complex vitamins they are key to converting food into energy.
  • Strengthen the immune system: Multivitamins containing vitamin C and E can help strengthen immunity. Stronger immunity reduces the risk of disease. When we are healthy, we have more energy for everyday activities.
  • They support muscles: Minerals such as magnesium and calcium are essential for normal muscle function. Lack of these minerals can lead to fatigue and reduced strength. Multivitamins therefore support muscles and increase endurance.
  • They improve general health: If both body and mind are healthy, we have more energy. Multivitamins improve the well-being of the whole body, not just specific parts.

Why do I lack energy?

It seems simple, if we have lower energy levels, our body must be using more energy than it can produce.

In the scientific world, two reasons are given for the possible lower energy sample:

  • A large amount of energy is used in an enhanced inflammatory response.
  • The body is not able to efficiently produce energy from the food we consume.

A high level of inflammatory response shifts our metabolism to a less efficient way of producing energy.

High levels of the inflammatory response can also be associated with chronic diseases. So, if you are sick in some way, there is a possibility that you are spending a lot more energy than usual.

A huge "thief" of energy is our stress hormone cortisol. When it's at high levels, cortisol prompts the liver to break down stores of sugar called glycogen and redirect it to our brain or muscles, which break down the sugar into energy.

In this way, our body responds to everything that causes stress. For example, if we plan to work until 2 a.m. to meet a deadline, our brain needs more energy.

Elevated cortisol can also lead to a high inflammatory response. High cortisol comes with the release of anti-inflammatory cytokine molecules.

These molecules can increase the intensity of the inflammatory response, signaling our immune system to deploy or create immune cells, which in turn use up more energy.

The term chronic stress is used to describe long-term (more than 6 months) elevated cortisol. Over a long period of time, this rise in hormones can begin to damage and desensitize the parts of the body involved in managing stress.

Scientists have proposed that adrenal burnout can occur, leading to chronic underproduction of cortisol and ultimately a lack of energy.

If we don't respect our circadian rhythm, our body's natural cues to go to bed around 23pm and wake up around 7am, or if we toss and turn in bed at night, cortisol levels can increase and trigger a low energy cycle.

How does the body produce energy?

The main energy carrier in the body, adenosine triphosphate (ATP), is an organic compound that exists in every cell of our body. Mitochondria, organelles that are considered the energy source of the cell, work to create energy from food.

As we age, or even as a result of our own energy production, mitochondria can produce harmful molecules called reactive oxygen species (ROS).

These molecules can damage our mitochondria and reduce energy production. Much of scientific activity today is focused on keeping our mitochondria healthy when they are already running the whole "show".

Diet can play a big role in the quality of energy we get from food and can support or prevent a healthy inflammatory response.

The basic distribution of nutrients looks like this:

  • Macronutrients: Carbohydrates, proteins, fats and water.
  • Micronutrients: Vitamins and minerals.
  • Other nutrients: Antioxidants, dietary fiber.

A diet that consists primarily of carbohydrates is considered nutrient poor, as those who follow this diet tend to lack key vitamins and nutrients found in macronutrients such as protein and fat.

A high-carbohydrate diet can also favor a high inflammatory response, ultimately leading to additional energy expenditure.

How can I increase my energy levels?

A balanced diet, regular exercise and enough quality sleep are the best ways to maintain natural energy levels. But this is not always possible, especially when the demands of everyday life are what we are trying to balance.

Fortunately, there are energy-boosting vitamins and minerals that can help.
