Product Description

Deflagyn

Vaginal gel is available as part of the DeflaGyn® Application Set, a medical device system that includes the gel in a bottle and applicators for convenient dosing and administration.

DeflaGyn® vaginal gel frees the irritated epithelium of the cervix and the vaginal mucosa from potentially irritating pathogens.

DeflaGyn® vaginal gel thus promotes spontaneous remission by adjusting the milieu of cervical and vaginal secretions during the psychologically stressful period of "watchful waiting".

When is this product used?

It is used in patients with atypical changes in the epithelium of the cervix, including CIN 1 and CIN 2, during the waiting period in accordance with the guidelines of gynecological societies.

The recommended therapy lasts 3 months, one application set contains a monthly therapy.

DeflaGyn® vaginal gel contains highly dispersed micronized particles of silicon dioxide (SiO2) as the main ingredient and the antioxidant DEFLAMIN® (biologically activated selenium, a patented combination of sodium selenite and citric acid).

Antioxidant capacity DEFLAMIN®-a (a combination of citric acid and sodium selenite) is stronger than the individual components, even vitamin C.

Moreover, citric acid lowers / stabilizes the pH and thus the acidic vaginal milieu. However, this is only a secondary effect. Just lowering the vaginal pH would not be enough to fight the pathogen because there are many acid-resistant bacteria and viruses, especially the HP virus.

Oxygen radical absorption capacity (ORAC): When measuring, the vitamin E derivative Trolox serves as a reference, so the result is given in Trolox equivalents (TE).

Deflagyn is a class IIa medicinal product.

How to use

Patients without menstruation - DeflaGyn should be used for 3 x 28 days. After 28 days of treatment, stop using DeflaGyn intravaginal gel for 3 days. Then continue the treatment for the next 28 days, then stop for another 3 days. After that, continue with the third cycle of treatment.

Menstruating patients - Do not use DeflaGyn intravaginal gel during menstruation (about 3-5 days/cycle). It is not necessary to interrupt the treatment for an additional 3 days, because a period is counted as an interruption of treatment.
