Aptamil Lactose Free is suitable for infants who have developed lactose intolerance, if the child is not breastfed. Common baby food contains lactose, a natural sugar that is also found in mother's milk. When an infant is lactose intolerant, this sugar is removed and replaced with an alternative, maltodextrin.

Aptamil Lactose Free meets all the nutritional needs of infants up to the age of six months, and for older infants it is part of a mixed diet. Lactose intolerance often occurs as a result of diarrhea, and the use of lactose-free formulas promotes a quick recovery.
